The Face behind the festivity
Cecil Roebuck: Parade Float Builder and Event Production Specialist
Born and raised in Mobile, AL, Cecil Roebuck's passion for Mardi Gras sparked from an early age, and he has been building parade floats and sculpting props since 1970. A key contributor to the founding of the Conde Cavalier's in 1977, now the largest Krewe in Mobile, Cecil has crafted floats for renowned Krewes such as the Order of Inca, Mystic Stripers Society, and Krewe of Columbus, as well as Knights of Ecor Rouge and Maids of Jubilee in Fairhope, AL, and Krewe of Terreanians and Hyacinthians in Houma, LA.
Cecil's expertise extends beyond the Gulf Coast. He built props for the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans, worked on the Fallas Festival in Valencia, Spain, and created props for the Ndocciata in Agnone, Italy. His work has also graced the Tournament of Roses, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and major corporate projects for FAO Schwartz and Coca Cola. Cecil’s experience includes show production for Walt Disney World's SpectroMagic Parade, as well as float building for the Charlotte Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Now, as the founder of the Mystic Kings Krewe of New Orleans, Cecil continues his legacy by ushering in the Mardi Gras season on January 5th, honoring the journey of the three wise men. His decades of experience make him the ideal choice for building and producing parades, floats, and event experiences across New Orleans and beyond.
